Frequently asked questions
Prep & compliance
Why do I suddenly need a prep partner?
Amazon discontinued its in-house FBA prep and item-labelling service on 1 January 2026. Unless you prep in-house, every FBA seller now needs a third party to receive, label and pack inventory so it passes inbound.
What happens if prep is wrong?
Amazon charges inbound-defect fees of $0.32 to $1.74 per unit for missing or incorrect prep, and up to $8.25 on oversize items. A failed FNSKU scan can also mean the whole shipment is held or re-prepped at your cost. That is why we price for accuracy rather than the lowest sticker.
Do you need my Seller Central login?
No. We need the FNSKU for each SKU, which you can export from Seller Central yourself. If you later want us to create FBA shipment plans directly, you can authorise us through Amazon's official developer API rather than sharing a password.
Can you cover the manufacturer barcode?
Yes - that is standard on FNSKU labelling. The label is placed to fully cover the existing barcode so only the FNSKU scans.
Turnaround & operations
How fast do you turn stock around?
1-3 business days from receipt is standard. Rush SLAs are available at a premium if you need the stock live sooner.
What if the count is wrong?
You get a discrepancy report within 24 hours, with the variance per SKU and photos of any damage. We quarantine damaged units and wait for your instruction rather than guessing.
Can you receive containers?
Yes. We unload floor-loaded 20ft and 40ft containers, and receive palletised freight. Those are per-container and per-pallet rates on the rate card.
What can't you handle?
We do not currently take hazmat, perishables or temperature-controlled goods. Check with us before shipping anything regulated.
Storage & billing
How is storage billed?
Monthly, per pallet position or per shelf bin, with a cubic-foot option if that suits your mix better. We bill the positions your stock actually occupies.
What is aged inventory?
Stock sitting longer than 90 days moves to the long-term pallet rate. The portal shows the age of every pallet so nothing surprises you.
How does invoicing work?
By activity. Every unit of prep we log, plus receiving, storage and add-ons, is totalled into an invoice you can read line by line in the portal, each line showing the rate it was billed at.
What is not included in the rates?
Materials - boxes, polybags, bubble wrap, pallets, tape - are billed at cost plus handling. Outbound postage and freight are passed through at carrier cost plus $1.00 handling per order. Nothing is marked up invisibly.
Is there a minimum or platform fee?
No minimum volume and no platform or software fee. Your standard-prep rate simply drops as your volume grows, from $1.20 down to $0.55 per unit.
Portal & integrations
What do I get in the portal?
Inventory by SKU with on-hand, inbound and reserved counts; inbound shipment creation; work-order submission; outbound tracking and Amazon shipment IDs; invoices; document and photo downloads; and a support thread with the ops team.
Do you integrate with Amazon?
Yes - through Amazon's official Selling Partner API for FBA shipment creation, carton labels and inventory status. FNSKU unit labels we generate ourselves, which is how every prep centre does it.
Do you handle FBM orders?
Yes. We pick, pack and ship seller-fulfilled and direct-to-consumer orders with real carrier labels and tracking, including branded packaging and gift wrap if you want them.
How do I get notified?
Email on the events that matter: received, discrepancy, prep complete, shipped and invoiced. You choose which ones.
